Description

The Villa Tavarnuzze is a two-floor villa nestled among in the Chianti countryside, on a ridge overlooking a valley rich in history and surrounded by olive trees, rosebushes and native Mediterranean vegetation. It has a large swimming pool and charming courtyards which are ideal for relaxing outside in the warmer months.

The location is extraordinarily convenient, lying just about halfway between Florence and Siena, and just a short distance from the four-lane highway connecting the two cities. All Chianti's lovely villages are a short drive away; just one mile away is Tavarnelle, a bustling town with banks, shops, restaurants, and post offices.

The estate's accommodating owners and their three small children live in a separate house next door and will arrange with you convenient hours for their own use of the pool. They are entirely unobtrusive while being entirely available should you encounter problems or simply need a restaurant recommendation or other sightseeing advice.

The Villa is furnished entirely in period antiques and sleeps eleven guests in six bedrooms, all with en suite bathrooms. Homemade wine and olive oil may be purchased from the owner.

Accommodation

GROUND FLOOR: Composed of a pair of big reception rooms, plus a separate dining room and large, fully-equipped kitchen. The kitchen is brand-new and includes a six-burner restaurant-quality stove, unusual in an Italian rental house. Just out of the kitchen is an antique paved patio with a large table for al fresco meals. Also on this level is a guest half-bath and the first of five principal bedrooms (with private bath) on an "in-between" mezzanine level.

FIRST FLOOR: This level contains a spacious, comfortably furnished double living room which boasts particularly nice views of the surrounding countryside. The remainder of this level is composed of three double bedrooms, one twin bedroom (joinable beds) and a final single bedroom, all with en suite bathrooms. This estate is ideal for two, or even three small, families travelling together. In fact, there is a bedroom for a babysitter or other help on the ground floor (behind the kitchen) with two single beds, furnished in modern style with en suite bath.

Please note: Across from the villa is a charming guest house with two bedrooms, a small kitchen and dining room. This can be rented along with Podere Corti for larger parties.

Services included

Included in the weekly rental charge is housekeeping service on Tuesdays and Thursdays and change of towels on Tuesdays.

All guests are invited by the owner to a welcome dinner by the, while a chef will be available for either lunch or dinner each day (6 days per week).

A gardener looks after the grounds and the swimming pool.

WINE CELLAR: A well-stocked, private wine cellar is available to the villa's guests (with house wine and extra virgin olive oil).

TUSCAN COOKING SCHOOL: Afternoon or evening cooking lessons with our professional Italian chef can be pre-booked at Podere Corti for up 8 students.

BABYSITTING SERVICE: English-speaking babysitters can be arranged.
