Mediterranean-style terraces encircle the estate and lead down into the fields and woodlands of the surrounding countryside. The classic Tuscan eggshell-hued exterior complements the terracotta and stone paved courtyard beautifully.

Accommodation

GROUND FLOOR - Airy and totally panoramic, the ground floor is comprised entirely of reception rooms. Enclosed on all sides by a series of archways, this unique layout offers guests 360 degree views. On the left side of the entrance hall is a spacious sitting room with a grand fireplace.

This charming living room runs the full width of the house with windows on all sides. Across the entrance hall, an archway leads into a large formal dining area overlooking the pool and sweeping vista. Adjacent to the main dining room is a smaller reception room well suited to breakfast. A fantastically equipped, restaurant-style kitchen's east-facing front is entirely glass, looking over the patio and veranda terrace. A full guest bathroom and utility/laundry room with ample storage space lie between the kitchen and small dining room.

FIRST FLOOR - An old stone staircase leads up to four full double bedrooms and one small double bedroom, four bathrooms, one with tub (three bathrooms are en suite and one is shared).

The terraced, beautifully cultivated garden is poolside (ground floor terrace is fenced in).

Services included

Included in the weekly rental charge are the services of 2 housekeepers who care of general cleaning duties Monday- Friday.

A gardener looks after the grounds and the swimming pool. At the estate reception there is an available concierge.

Services not included

TUSCAN COOKING SCHOOL: Afternoon or evening cooking lessons with our professional Italian chef can be pre-booked at Villa dell Vergine for up to 10 students.

TUSCAN MAMMAS: Local Tuscan 'mammas' can cater for a charming continental/buffet breakfast each morning and provide meal service for either lunch or dinner. A chef is also available for either lunch or dinner each day (6 days per week).

LAUNDRY: We are pleased to offer personal laundry service as well as offering to make arrangements for any specialist dry cleaning requirements.

BABYSITTING SERVICE: English-speaking babysitters can be arranged.

Notes

The south facing pool at Santa Virginia runs the whole length of the house and can be seen from almost every room. Bordered by a terracotta paved solarium, the fantastically pitched infinity pool lies right next to the house and literally on the edge of the tree topped crest. Mosaic tiled, roman steps lead down into the water and a spa bath sits on the west facing end. Such an inviting way of watching the sun go down, over drinks maybe!

The south and westerly facing portico is perfect for shady relaxing pool side and informal dining. Towards the front of the house, east and west facing, the large Tuscan loggia veranda provides a wonderful space for entertaining. Strategically placed, not only does the loggia provide wonderful dawn and twilight views, it also overlooks the front entrance and courtyard towards the glass fronted kitchen.
