Description

Once the official residence of Leopold II Grand Duke of Tuscany, the magnificent Castello di Magrone is located on Tuscany's coast, near Grosseto and close to the fertile wine area of Bolgheri. The castle has been renovated and transformed into a super lavish, fully-staffed eleven-bedroom property with air conditioning that can easily accommodate up to 22 guests.

With furnishings worthy of a five-star luxury hotel, a high-speed internet equipped office, satellite television and helpful staff, Castello del Mago is ideal for executives needing to stay in touch with their offices. The castle is also a perfect location for private parties.

Accommodation

GROUND FLOOR: The Castle's impressive entrance hall is tastefully decorated with museum-quality oil paintings. On the left is a small sitting room/office with an antique wooden desk, bookcase, and internet access. At the end of the entrance hall, on the left, is another sitting room with a fireplace which is joined to an elegantly furnished living room with two damask armchairs, satellite TV and DVD. On the right side of the entrance hall is a well lit, ceramic tiled formal dining room, where guests can enjoy their meals. Between this formal banquet room and the kitchen is a cosy dining space well suited to smaller groups.

FIRST FLOOR: Two staircases lead to the first floor. The staircase on the right side of the entrance hall leads to the stunning Grand Duke's suite, which overlooks both the front and rear gardens. This regal, red-hued suite is furnished with antiques including a 17th-century bed, book case and grand piano. Adjacent to this suite are two more charming suites. The first overlooks the southern gardens and the second faces the northern gardens.
The entrance hall's left staircase leads to the mezzanine level, which features a double bedroom, a junior suite, a lovely second suite with a spacious terrace, two double bedrooms and an additional suite. Another staircase leads to an attic featuring a small suite with a stunning view of the surrounding countryside and beautiful exposed wood beams. The estate's final bedroom is located in the medieval tower.

OUTDOOR FACILITIES
Rose garden, comfortable outdoor lounges (an ideal place to have pre-dinner drinks on warm summer evenings), patio for al fresco dining, swimming pool with small but fully equipped pool house, whirlpool and a small, bright gym with a number of fitness machines.

Services included

Included in the weekly rental charge is a team of housekeepers on call 6 days a week plus linen and towel change mid-week.

Villa staff will also provide welcome drink, dinner and daily continental breakfast. A gardener looks after the grounds and the swimming pool.

LAUNDRY: Personal laundry service arranged by local staff.

TUSCAN COOKING SCHOOL: Afternoon or evening cooking lessons with our professional Italian chef can be pre-booked at Castello del Mago for up to 10 students.

BABYSITTING SERVICE: English-speaking babysitters can be arranged.
