Borghetto Toscano is an elegantly restored eight hundred year-old village, or borgo, located thirty minutes south of Siena, nearby Montalcino in the world-famous Brunello wine district. Abandoned by its most recent inhabitants in the 1960s, the Villas of the Borghetto have since been refurbished to create a destination like no other: a beautiful, historic Tuscan hideaway in a gorgeous natural setting where people from all over the world can gather today and plan for tomorrow.

The Borghetto includes 22 suites in its manor house and a four-home village arranged around a central piazza. Individual suites are ample, luxurious and private, with estate's plush public spaces providing plenty of opportunity for socializing, mingling and good-natured contact in general.
The cuisine and service available at Borghetto Toscano uphold Tuscany's renowned centuries-old traditions of outstanding wine, delicious food and extraordinary hospitality. The Villas, conveniently located to both Florence and Rome, are a fantastic vacation destination for families and groups of friends.

Accommodation

MANOR HOUSE: Sleeps 18 guests in 9 suites. Master suite includes sauna, steam shower, fireplace, wet bar and third floor terrace.

The foundations of the Borghetto's manor house date back to the fourteenth century. Recent renovations have taken the historic house to a level of great modern comfort without compromising the original integrity of its design or charming spirit of its old stone walls and rustic ceiling beams.

GROUND FLOOR - Downstairs is a carefully stocked library and reading room with a fireplace and chess table for indoor entertainment. The Villa's book collection includes texts chosen to satisfy your curiosity about Italian history, archaeology, art, music and literature. Next door to the library is a state-of-the-art media room with a large screen HD television and surround sound system. For your entertainment, the Criterion Classic Film collection and a large selection of Italian interest materials from The Teaching Company, as well as a Playstation and Nintendo Wii with an array of games, are available to guests. Also downstairs is the estate's barrel-vaulted, historic cantina next door to the wine-tasting room.

FIRST FLOOR - A carved-stone Borghese crest greets visitors as they enter the formal dining room upstairs, a nod to the estate's noble past. The room itself is painted in formal Sienese style, true to its original decoration. Large, banquet style tables with fabulously intricate wooden inlay adjust to multiple configurations for approximately forty-four guests or fewer and will be tailored specifically to your group.

To the right is the family dining room, an elegant but cozy space thanks to the clever cove ceiling. The intricately detailed space is wonderful for more intimate gatherings of groups up to ten.
The two sets of French doors in the dining room open out to the dining terrace, which seats an additional twenty to thirty guests. The space offers shade in the morning for a pleasant breakfast, as well as the perfect sunset view and lantern-lit ambiance in the evenings.

Next to the dining rooms is the kitchen complex. This fully-equipped family kitchen is for guests' convenience. In addition, the main floor of the manor house also offers several sitting rooms. The large, elegant living room offers several seating areas around a fireplace and a Yamaha grand piano.
The manor house is wired with a central music system with wall controls in individual rooms as well as the greater gathering spaces. It is possible to attach a personal iPod at any of these outlets or to adjust the channel to receive various local radio stations or music from our central CD hub and iPod dock at the bar.

FILIPPI HOUSE - Sleeps 4 in two ensuite bedrooms.
The Filippi House provides generous living space and a higher degree of privacy. The open floor plan features a kitchen with bar seating and a dining area that opens onto a private terrace, which faces south and therefore affords a spectacular view of the sunrise. Around the corner and also opening onto the terrace is the living area, with a fireplace surrounded by sofas and banquette seating. Two bright, spacious bedroom suites feature sitting areas. Available Bose speaker system with iPod docking station.

SANTA TERESA HOUSE: Sleeps 8 in four ensuite bedrooms.
Centuries ago, the Santa Teresa House saw to the Borgo inhabitants' religious needs, and today it still retains a refined sensibility. The dwelling offers an airy, open floor plan downstairs, in which a few steps and a cutout wall separate the living room from the kitchen. Large arched doors open onto a patio with covered seating and a view of Montalcino. Santa Teresa is the brightest of the houses, decorated in a sunny yellow palette and blue accents. Upstairs, two bedrooms provide excellent views of Montalcino and the Val d'Orcia. The charmingly unique master bedroom features a large, arched window and oculus where the chapel would have once been. Available Bose speaker system with iPod docking station

FEDE HOUSE: Sleeps 10 in five ensuite bedrooms.
Fede House is the largest of the historic farmhouses. The main living space includes a cozy siting area with sofas, a large fireplace, a music system; a dining space with a long table which seats twelve; and a kitchen with an island and breakfast nook. Three sets of French doors open the entire space onto a patio overlooking the valley with more seating and a canopy. The warm, comfortable décor is more rustic than the manor house, fitting given the Fede House's origins. The one bedroom downstairs is an oasis of tranquility, with its own private entrance on a side patio. Upstairs, three bedrooms face Montalcino and the valley below from an excellent vantage point. A fifth bedroom occupies a split-level suite-style arrangement. Available Bose speaker system with iPod docking station.

COLUSSI HOUSE: Sleeps 4 in two ensuite bedrooms.
Colussi is the coziest of the houses. A private refuge in the center of Borghetto toscano's main piazza, its shared space features a living room with a fireplace and breakfast table, and a kitchenette. Opposite its main entrance to the courtyard, French doors open onto a private terrace facing south and the sunrise. Available Bose speaker system with iPod docking station.

Included in the weekly rental charge is a team of housekeepers, gardeners, a personal concierge, a chef, waiters and porters.

Your chef will prepare continental/buffet breakfast each morning and is also available for either lunch or dinner each day (lunches and dinners are extras).

Services not included

TUSCAN COOKING SCHOOL: Lunchtime or evening cooking lessons with the estate's professional Italian chef can be pre-booked at Borghetto Toscano for up to a maximum of 15 students.

LAUNDRY: Borghetto Toscano offers personal laundry service. In addition, arrangements can be made for any specialist dry cleaning requirements.

BABYSITTING SERVICE: English-speaking babysitters can be arranged.

In the northern wing of the manor house is our 1,000 sq ft conference facility and ballroom for fifty. The modular furniture can be adjusted to suit any group's needs. So whether the aim is to enhance informal discussion or to better facilitate presentations by individuals from the stage at front, the space accommodates perfectly.

The room is wired to provide power connections for laptops, projectors, etc. Technological features are designed to accommodate any group with state-of-the-art sound, lighting and projectors for a variety of interactive presentations and displays. Other potential meeting spaces include a formal dining room and outdoor dining terrace, living room with grand piano and study, screening room, library, bar, cantina and wine tasting room, professional teaching kitchen, an interior courtyard, the main piazza, and the estate's extensive beautiful garden spaces with various shaded benches and a gazebo.
